Early Intervention programs and services help infants and toddlers with disabilities or delays to learn key skills that typically develop during the first three years of life. When a child is determined to be eligible for early intervention, the family will work as part of a team to determine the goals and strategies that meet the needs of the family. Services may include developmental therapy/special instruction, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy.
Early intervention services are provided in the home or child care program where families and caregivers learn strategies for engaging their child in activities that promote development. When services are provided in the places children spend the majority of their time (home and child care) adults can provide many opportunities for children to practice important skills.
Early intervention is available in all 50 states and is funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). In many states, services are provided at no cost to the family, while some states have a sliding scale for family fees. Depending on the policies in your state, we can bill private insurance, Medicaid, the state program office, or accept payments directly from families.
The team at Childhood Interventions, LLC, can work with your local Early Intervention program to provide the necessary services to help you help your child catch up and achieve outcomes that are important to you and your family.
